So Much to Look Forward to!
We have some plans in place for the next few months. First we shall travel to Warwick, along the Oxford Canal as far as Napton Junction where we shall turn left on to the Grand Union and go to Warwick. This was not in the original plan, but there are a few things we have to do there and so have decided to go by boat.
When we have finished in Warwick we shall have a month or so before we put the boat in to a marina and go to Cyprus for a month. During this time we may well visit the Ashby Canal. This was one of our first trips, and we enjoyed it and have wanted to return. It's only a short trip and should just about fill the time nicely until we go to Cyprus.
When we come back from Cyprus we may well set off for the Llangollen Canal. We shall have about five weeks to get there, through December and over Christmas and The New Year, before the stoppages close the first part of it for a couple of months. Then we shall stay there until the maintenance work is completed and we can get back on to the main system once more, around the middle of March.
For the last two years, we've rented a cottage in Derbyshire for four weeks in January, and hope to do this again. And that should all take us very nicely through to next Spring!
