We're still in Warwickshire and now we've done thirteen walks, out of a total of twenty. Things went a bit pear shaped after the last posting. First we had to go to Nuneaton to get a problem with the boat fixed, and that took two weeks. Then the car we had been lent developed problems and we had to get the RAC to tow it back to its owners in the south of the county. The RAC's service was excellent. They even took us back to Nuneaton after taking the car to its owners. So there we were, out in the sticks north of Nuneaton waiting for a part for the boat and no transport. One bright spot was when Jean and Brian on "A New Song" came sailing by and moored up next to us overnight. We enjoyed their company, they cheered us up no end! Thanks, friends!
So we hired a car and did a couple of walks whilst we were waiting, and the part came sooner than expected, and so we set off back to central Warwickshire again. Now we're back in Saltisford Canal Centre, and getting some more walks under our belts. I'm certainly getting fit. We've hired a car again for a few days so that we can get out and about. We plan to get the walks finished by mid-September, then we shall start the long cruise up to Llangollen for the winter. We've spent the last three winters on the Llangollen Canal, so it obviously suits us!
