YES, WE DO IT AGAIN..........!
I haven't posted anything since we arrived in Llangollen. That's because there hasn't been a lot to write about, and the weather in November was awful, it rained almost every day. We had more visitors in mid-November, when Ronnie and Pete came up from Warwick for a couple of days. Trev, Ronnie and Pete went out walking every day, and I had some precious time to myself! I'm making a double bed quilt at the moment, and it takes a lot of space. It's only worth working on if I have plenty of time, as there's a lot to get out and put away. I've also made a few presents, you can see them here:

OUR MOORING AT LLANGOLLEN
Kind friends Judy and Eric lent us their car whilst they were in Australia and we went to see Beryl and Trevor in Dolgelly. We met Beryl & Trevor when they were moored up here last year, since when they have sold their boat and moved onto dry land. It was good to see them again,we haven't seen them since March. They have a lovely cottage out in the country above Dolgellau and we spent the day with them. We also used the car to go to Wrexham to a concert by the Fron Male Voice Choir, and Trev went to Plas Menai on the coast to take his VHF Radio Course. This means that we can now go up the tidal Thames next year--a mixed blessing as far as I'm concerned! A new rule has been introduced by the Port of London Authority that boats over 45' have to have a VHF Radio and a qualified operator.
We went to see the local am dram performance of "A Child's Christmas in Wales" in the Town Hall. It was a really good performance. We also went to another amateur performance, this time it was Songs from the Shows, and had another enjoyable evening. One evening we went to Valle Crucis Abbey to a service of carols and readings. The Abbey is a ruin and is a couple of miles out of town. A bus was laid on to take us there. We had mulled wine and mince pies, and, although it was cold, it put us in the festive spirit.
Trev's enjoyed walking, both on his own and with a local group. Through this he's met quite a few people and he's joined The Llangollen Tidy Town Group, which meets once a month to go and litter pick in various parts of the town. We've also had a few people on board for a meal and after Christmas we are expecting more visitors: Catharine and Mamdooh are coming for a night, and also Jane & Pete will come some time for a couple of nights. We like visitors, especially in the winter when the days are short and the evenings in particular so long.
ANOTHER WALK UP DINAS BRAN.........
I said I'd never do it again--oh how foolish we mortals are! What short or selective memories we have. December 23rd was a glorious day, and we decided to walk up to the top of Dinas Bran. I'd forgotten how steep it was, how it made me out of breath, how I had decided last time I wasn't going to do it again. However, it was worth the struggle, and the views from the top were fantastic.
Now we're organised for Christmas, it's Christmas Eve and soon all will be quiet in the town as everyone stays indoors and celebrates. My very best wishes to you all for Christmas and the New Year
HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
